What to do when your kid brings a baby bird?
This is the question that has intrigued a number of people. What should we parents do when an injured bird is brought home? The case is even bad, when a young one is brought home. It is tempting to adopt them, but maybe you are making a mistake.
My son and his friend brought home a young Robin. It must have been juts few days old. It was found among shrubs, and they brought it home. As it was delicate, it was bruised due to fall. There are various reasons why one can find young ones among the shrubs. Most of the times, it is because they have become fledglings. If you are wondering what it means, it is just a reference to the young ones which have left the nest and tried flying. Once they leave their nests, they are no more called nestlings and are known as fledglings. These stay among the shrubs, thick vegetations their parents search food for them. Once they become strong, they are ready to fly!
So I assumed that my son too found one fledgling. We took care of the bird for few days and then left it in its habitat, the spot where my son found it. A few hours later, the family was reunited. Though my son pestered in adopting the bird, my instinct saved a family from breaking!
