Sett, Eyrie, Nide, Drey. Did all these words ring anything common in your mind? They are the names of the nests made by different species. These nests are made of any organic material like grass, straw and so on. But these days, birds have also become urbanized and are using many things like plastic, paper, string and so on. The effect of modernization ahs its effects on nests too!

Nests are a classic example to show that birds are very caring when it comes to their young ones. Every nest is a reflection of their care. They strive very hard to build a nest and their hard work is evident from the nests. These days it is not that easy to get organic materials and hence the birds have to settle for the human made things. This has two aspects. One is it shows the flexibility and creativity of the bird. In addition to it, it shows how we human beings have made it difficult for the birds to even build a nest since we have destroyed organic materials.

The best part is that if the nests ever get damaged, they build it all over again patiently. So the nest time you spot a nest, just take a look and enjoy it, since a nest is the reflection of a number of characteristics of birds.
