Many people love their pets. I usually write about birds, but today a few words on dogs. I know my dog is like a member of the family. I come downstairs sometimes and see one of the kids piled on top of our dog. You might think this is torture for our pet, but you have to remember that dogs are like wolves. Wolves are pack animals. And anyone who has a dog knows that they are also pack animals. This is why they want to be by your side pretty much all of the time. You are their pack. They are most comfortable around the leader. They will wait to eat until the top dog has had their fill. It’s funny to watch, particularly their behavior around dog food. Just watch their eyes as you pour the dog food. Their body language is interesting too. Of course, the more dominant the pouch the less you will see them waiting for your approval. I doubt you will see a bird doing this!
