There is something absolutely nostalgia invoking about grandfather clocks. Much like bird watching itself! These operate at a subconscious level invoking memories of childhood past. As children we spend much of our time outdoors in union with nature. Birds are part of the background. We watch them as our pets chase them around or simply, in admiration. Every kid wants to be able to soar like the bird. One of the greatest fascinations during childhood is flight. Similarly it is with grandfather clocks.
